Job : Logistics/Supply Network Operations Primary Location : NG-Lagos-Lagos Schedule : Full-time Job Type : Standard Job Scope: The Demand Planner is located in the HQ in Lagos Nigeria and plays an important role in his/her Multifunctional Team (Marketing, CBD, Finance). S/he leads his/her Team in the forecast and estimate generation process and manages the S&OP cycle, importantly, s/he leads the Weekly Demand Control Meetings, driving the business understanding and the rootcausing of Sales and Shipment deviations from the estimates. As such, the Demand Planer plays an important role in providing the Business Team and the Management with the data, which are bases for the Management decisions. Forecast generation -Analyzing and understanding past trends of his/her forecasting objects -Gathering and validating assumptions and quantifying their impact on volume -Providing an accurate and timely 18-month volume forecast. -Gaining the alignment to the Forecast -Sharing and working with the regional planning network and using it to further develop and improve the local systems and processes -Driving continuous improvement of the forecasting process through the use of Weekly Monthly and yearly assessment as the case may be, why- why analysis, 90 days action plan execution. Weekly Demand Control - Monitoring actual sales and shipment vs. Forecast and recognizing "normal" (expected) and "abnormal" (unexpected demand) vs. the agreed forecast. - Revising forecast when necessary on weekly basis via WDC, clarifying variances within the forecast vs. actual, understanding implications, adjusting the forecast as necessary and then communicating this to the plants via Supply Planning Manager and working out alternatives in case there exists a constraint on the capacity. Important Skills: -Thinking / Problem Solving Strong data analyses skills, understanding of trends, able to translate past into future, spot any unusual trends etc. Demand Planner must be comfortable to work with complex data and comfortable to work with the Forecasting system (GDF). -Communication As s/he works with people from different functions, and across levels, must be effective in passing the information, i.e. tailoring the information to the audience. -Collaboration Collaboration and being in touch with the others is essential for the success of the Demand Planner, as forecasting is the multifunctional task and can't be done successfully in the isolation. -Technical Mastery As the work involves adherence to the Processes and is highly dependent on the system (GDF), the know-how is a must for the success, thus must be gained fairly quickly. This involves also understanding the Planning Objects and Market dynamics. -Operating with Discipline As the work is run on given schedules, the high level of Operating with Discipline is requested, to meet all the needed deadlines and to ensure the smooth process. Qualifications Minimum Qualification of a Bachelors' degree or equivalent with good academic results. Good Written and Oral English Skills Proven Demonstration of Leadership and Analytical Skills. |
